A Method in Creating New Life Perceptions and Perspectives
Through Art Therapy
PRESENTATION BY MARISE ZIMMERMANN
Review by Yudith Segev
In an excellent presentation, Marise Zimmermann introduced us to Brene Brown's theory about the importance of being authentic and communicating well in life. Marise then reinforced this theory by offering participants an interesting exercise based on the illustrated "Zoom Book" by Istvan Banyai (see video). Marise Zimmermann reflected wonderful skills. She softened resistance by sharing her patients' experiences and those from her own life.
Through the Zoom Book exercise, we were able to learn a lot about our own dynamics, and how to create new perceptions and perspectives about ourselves. A good metaphor for this experience might be the changing weather right outside the windows of our workshop. I sat across from an open door, and watched the pouring rain that by the end of the session had been transformed into a beautiful shining clear day.
Marise's presentation was as powerful to me as the change of weather was abrupt during her workshop. Thank you, Marise, for such a stimulating session. END.
