The American Art Therapy Association (AATA) does not require chapter members to have concurrent AATA membership. Board members are expected to make an annual donation, which can be as simple as purchasing the appropriate annual membership subscription :-)

Please note: NorCATA memberships are based on a recurring subscription fee, and are automatically renewed on your anniversary date.
Credentialed and Active Professional - $35 (USD) Subscription period: annualized. Payments are recurring until canceled. Open to individuals who maintain current Registration (ATR) and/or Certification (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc. (ATCB). Also open to individuals who have completed graduate level training in art therapy. All professional members may participate in all activities of the association, receive all publications, shall be eligible to vote, hold office, and serve on committees. AATA membership required.
Associate Professional - $30 (USD) Subscription period: annualized. Payments are recurring until canceled. Individuals interested in art therapy and who wish to support the purposes and objectives of the association. This category is not open to individuals who have completed art therapy education programs or are working as art therapists. Associate Professional members may not vote or serve on the NorCATA executive board. Associate members are eligible to participate in all activities of the association and receive all publications. AATA membership required.
Student - $25 (USD) Subscription period: annualized. Payments are recurring until canceled. Open to individuals who do not meet the qualifications of professional membership and who are currently taking courses in art therapy or a related field shall be eligible for student membership. students officially enrolled in art therapy education and training courses. Such members may not vote or hold office, but may serve on such committees as the Board of Directors may from time to time delegate; and will receive all official publications. AATA membership required.
Contributing Friend - $45 (USD) Subscription period: annualized. Payments are recurring until canceled. Individuals who do not meet qualifications for the other membership categories. Open to individuals nationally or internationally who are interested in the therapeutic use of art including physicians, psychologists or educators. Friends shall be eligible to receive all official publications, to attend meetings, but shall not have the right to vote, hold office, or serve on a committee. AATA membership not required.
Retired Member and/or Honorary Life Member - $0 This membership category may be conferred upon any member of NorCATA in recognition of distinguished service in the field of art therapy and to the purposes and objectives of NorCATA. Honorary Life Members (HLMs) shall have all the rights and privileges of Active Professional membership without the payment of membership dues.
There is no membership payment required for Retired Professionals and Honorary Lifetime members.
Institutional Member - $125 Organizations and Educational Institutions that wish to support NorCATA's mission and objectives. Representatives of the Institution or Organization are not eligible to vote or hold office but may serve on designated committees and attend meetings. AATA membership not required.
International Member - $25 Individuals living outside the United States who are working in the field of art therapy or are interested in art therapy and who wish to support the mission and objectives of the chapter. International members are not eligible to vote or hold office, but may serve on designated committees. AATA membership not required.
