Call for Proposals
NorCATA is calling for proposals for our 16th Biannual Conference, which will be held at the Sonoma State University Events Center on August 2-5, 2018.
Artistic Pollination: Community Art Promoting Social Resilience
Proposal submissions will be accepted no later than Monday, February 8, 2018.Authors will receive email notification on the status of their acceptance or denial no later than Friday, March 30, 2018.
Focusing on a theme of social justice, our keynote speaker will be Janis Timm-Bottos, Ph.D., ATR-BC, PT. Janis is an associate professor of art therapy, and a Provost Fellow for Community Engagement, Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal. Janis’ Art Hives Network connects small and regenerative community arts studios together to build solidarity across geographic distances to strengthen and promote the benefits of these inclusive, hospitable spaces across Canada and throughout the world. These spaces create opportunities for dialog, skill sharing, and art making among people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, ages, religions, cultures and abilities.
NorCATA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes the therapeutic use of art throughout Northern California, public awareness of art therapy, professional development through educational events, workshops, conferences, and more.
